Russian Lunic Pendant
The lunik (or lunula) pendant was a crescent moon shaped pendant or amulet worn by Slavic and Rus women and girls.
This ornate sterling silver pendant features pseudo-granulation and filigree decoration, and is a replica from a burial at Birka (grave 660), Sweden.
This particular type originates in western Russia and is also abundant through Poland and the Baltic region.
Measuring approx 3.6 cm by 3.0 cm, it's a comfortable size for wearing on a necklace, and makes a beautiful pendant for general day-to-day wear, as well as with kit.
